Woodman Controls Update

From Steve Heun’s Desk

While I title this letter, the title made me stop and chuckle, from my desk. Well the world is a little different right now. In fact, I am not at my desk, I am at my kitchen table. In fact, my kitchen table is now known as my office desk, the classroom, the art room, and a few other subjects as well. With many of us in the world working remotely, I am no exception. Woodman Controls is trying to do our part in social distancing as well. Many of our office staff are working from home. We are trying to limit the number of people we have in our facilities to as few as possible. We are also trying to keep our social distances on project sites as well. We have given our field staff commercial grade hand sanitizer to keep in their vehicles. As well as shared the CDC guidelines with our staff.

With the recent Coronavirus epidemic, we wanted to let everyone know that we are still here to support you and your facilities. If you need assistance with any of your building needs, please do not hesitate to call, email, or text us. I would ask that you leave voice mails if we miss your call, if we are not in the office we will still be notified of your message, and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

We have been getting quite a few questions regarding building controls during this pandemic. Some of the include:

  • How can I access my building automation systems remotely while I am not at work?

  • My computer said my JAVA is not compatible with my building automation system, how do I fix that?

  • How can I add more alarming and remote notifications to alert me of issues when no one is in the buildings?

  • What steps can we take to reduce energy consumption during these prolonged un-occupied times?

  • Can you help increase airflow and purge the buildings before we return?

  • Since we are not in our facilities, is now a good time to go ahead and have Woodman Controls come in and perform upgrades and other tasks while people are away?

All of these are great questions, and we are here to help and try and answer these and any other questions you may have. Please reach out to us through your normal contact or using the below information and we will do our best to make sure we get you answers to your questions or needs as soon as we can.

Thank you, and stay safe everyone Office 515-964-0904 Info@woodmaninc.com
