Engineering & Design
The Engineering & Design Department at Woodman Controls Company is responsible for transforming project concepts into fully developed, buildable automation solutions. This team ensures that every control system we deliver is not only functional but optimized for performance, cost-efficiency, and long-term scalability.
Combining deep technical knowledge with creative problem-solving, the department supports both internal project teams and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a system — from submittals and drawings to code development and graphical interface design.
Key Roles Within the Department:
-
Software Engineer
Programs, tests, and deploys control sequences and graphical interfaces for building automation systems. Responsible for delivering reliable, user-friendly software that aligns with project design and meets the functional needs of each facility.
-
Design Engineer
Develops detailed control drawings, wiring diagrams, valve/damper/VFD schedules, and sequences of operation. Ensures that each design aligns with client expectations, project plans, and Woodman Controls’ quality standards.
-
Engineering Manager
Leads the Engineering & Design team by managing workload distribution, maintaining technical standards, and ensuring smooth coordination with project managers, field teams, and clients. Plays a strategic role in technical innovation, process improvement, and cross-departmental collaboration.
